Sunday 15th November Cani-sports Edinburgh Canicross event at Foxlake Race report. by Fiona Ramsay
Puddles, mud and rain didn’t put off 28 cani-fitters who competed this morning in the long, short and kids course.
With a very wide open start area, the first challenger was getting The dogs to face the right direction and ran last the spectators
The course was a mixture of wide fields, tight forest trails and a sand packed , puddle filled river paths.
Thankfully not too many hills to tackle today so just the puddles and mud to either run right through , leap over and skip round the edges. Would be a super fast course when dry!!
Brill to have the PA system blasting out music round the registration area and favourite stall was definitely the big bobble hats.
Long course had 13 team Cani-fit compete out of 86. James and Fiona both taking 1st place in 16-39 age group, female 40 + 1st Hilary Robinson and male 40 + 5th Steve Robinson. No Cani-fit in either male / female 2 dog though………
James and BB also got fastest time round the long course!
Short course only 2 of us !
Fiona got 1st female Sandra Houndsworth 3rd over all placed!!
Fiona and Bud also got the fastest course time
cani-fit kids took up half of the entries and the 11 of them raced round the short course and in their age groups the top results are 7-10 male 2nd Jayden, 11-15 1st female Jada and 1st male Duncan Robinson, with the first 5 boys back all being team Cani-fit!!
Well done also to the first time team Cani-fit entrants Douglas, Sandra, Catriona and Lauren too !!
