Class and event information
Cani-Fit classes continue through rain, hail and shine. Sometimes though, weather conditions get the better even of the hardiest of us and it may be unsafe for classes to take place. Such weather events are out with our control and so regrettably we are unable to offer refunds or transfers in these instances.
Cold weather – trails may be affected and unsafe to use, or travel to and from class may be dangerous. If so, affected classes will be cancelled. No refunds or transfers will be offered.
Hot weather – may be too warm and/or humid for dogs to run. Classes will usually continue without dogs. Again, no refunds or transfers will be offered.
We will endeavour to let you know in as much time as possible prior to class via our social media channels, but often decisions cannot be made until shortly before the class is due to start. We advise that if weather conditions are adverse that you monitor our social media pages for announcements.
Should an event need to be cancelled for reasons out with the organiser’s control, a refund will be available minus costs the organiser has incurred.
If the event is postponed then the entry can be transferred to the rearranged event.
If you have booked onto a class and are unable to attend for any reason, please let us know via text message, phone call, email (email@example.com) or Facebook message just as soon as possible.
Please note that class fees are non refundable, non transferable and cannot be deferred to other classes.
Should you be unable to attend an event then please contact the event organiser by email as an official waiting list may be in place. To claim a refund should you be unable to attend please send a self addressed stamped envelope to the organiser. Any requests for refunds must be made 30 days prior to the event date, and this will be entry fee minus costs the organiser has incurred.
Please note that the organiser is unable to transfer entries to other runners.
General provisions regarding attendance at classes and events
Cani-Fit classes and events are fully insured with public liability insurance/event insurance. If you require personal insurance for yourself and/or your dog, it is your own responsibility to arrange this.
Humans and dogs are required to be in good health to take part in classes and events. If you have any concerns, please consult your doctor/dog’s veterinarian prior to booking.
Kennel cough and infectious diseases
Please do not under any circumstances bring a dog to class or an event that you suspect might have, has, or has been in contact with a dog that has kennel cough or any other infectious disease.
Kennel cough is extremely infectious (i.e. it spreads through the air/through the environment, direct contact is not needed). Incubation period is two to fourteen days after exposure to an infected animal and dogs can be infectious before they show symptoms so please be very mindful of any possible exposure.
The main symptom is a harsh, hacking cough. Dogs may still eat and drink normally. Know what is normal for your dog.
If you suspect your dog may have been exposed to kennel cough or has the illness, or has been exposed to or has any other infectious disease, do not attend class/event. Consult your veterinarian for further advice and assistance.
Class and event bookings already made which you are then unable to attend due to such illnesses are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to a later class or event.
Dogs should not return to class until entirely clear of the illness. For kennel cough, this will be two weeks after the last cough.
If in doubt, do not risk it. Kennel cough and other infectious diseases can be extremely serious to young, old and infirm dogs, and will spread round a class like wildfire. We have people who attend classes in various locations so there is also the risk of passing the illness to other areas. Please do not take any risks.
As long as you have control of the dog, reactive dogs may take part in classes and events. Contact us when booking to let us know if your dog requires space. An basket type muzzle that allows the mouth to open can be used.
If you have any specific behaviour concerns before attending a class or event then please get in touch, we are happy to discuss.
Safety is paramount. Any class or event participant who is unable to control their dog or for any reason risks the safety of the class or event may be asked to leave. No refunds will be given.
You must pick up after your dog at all times.
